I grew up as the active skinny girl who never weighed more than 105 pounds. But as I got older and saw other women struggling with their weight, I internalized from a young age that food and my weight were something I could control. I just knew that I did NOT want to be the girl who gained the freshman 15. It wasn’t a surprise that I started skipping meals and convincing myself that ice was, in fact, filling. (Spoiler, it wasn’t!)
I was in this constant mental tug-of-war about how much I could eat and not gain weight. And I’ll tell you, this way of thinking stuck with me through college, grad school, getting married, and all through having five kids back to back.
I was always trying the newest fad diet as my kids were growing up. Weight Watchers? Yep. The thing your friend swore by? Tried that too. Arbonne, The Zone Diet, low carb, Optavia, Whole 30, the protein shake meal replacement phase? Been there, done them all!
I’ll say it first, I was committed! And guess what - every diet worked, WHILE ON THE DIET. The problem was the "on the diet, off the diet" mentality and the weight (and then some) always came right back matter how hard I tried! What bothered me more than my weight was the impact on my health! My doctor told me:
“Your blood sugar’s too high.” “You’re not technically pre-diabetic…but you’re close.”
I decided to take a leap of faith and joined a gym while still being immersed in diet culture. As you can imagine, I walked in with ZERO idea of what to do. But as I sought help of a trainer, I was introduced to strength training.
And wouldn’t you know it, I really enjoyed it! I loved how empowering strength training felt, and I started to notice that I was feeling energized for the first time in years. Fitness in my 40s definitely looked different than in my 20s, but I was ready for the challenge. Strength training, and learning how to move my body better made me feel confident. It felt good to physically challenge myself.
But even after months spent at the gym, I still struggled with my body.. Between m y labs and just not liking how I looked, I decided to work with a health coach and my doctors to get some personalized attention. I can help you know how to have a conversation with your doctor if you need to seek out medical intervention.
I absolutely thrived working with a coach. He opened my eyes to things I had never considered before about nutrition and fitness! I learned so much through my 40s. I was inspired to become a Certified Personal Trainer and started training other women like me. Time went by and nutrition, mindset, and fitness over 50 became my priority and pursuit!
Fast forward to mid 50s and years of a healthy, active lifestyle, my doctor continued to warn me about my labs and my near pre-diabetic state.
After 2+ years of research and my doctor's recommendation to try a low dose of GLP-1, I saw the scale number start to drop for the first time in years. Combining weight loss and continued strength training has been pivotal in improving my over all health and I've completely reversed my inulin resistance.
Seeing this glimmer of success was empowering. I was finally seeing the results I had been trying to get for decades, and I continue to implement the habits that are serving my life!
As my personal success has grown, it fuels my desire to help other women in their midlife years get healthy, lose weight, and create a sustainable lifestyle too.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it one thousand times: healthy isn’t about being skinny. Healthy is about feeling strong, energetic, and creating a life that allows you to thrive well into your 80s and 90s. The body you build in your 40's and 50's will determine your quality of life as you age!
I believe that sustainable weight loss and healthy eating shouldn’t feel like a punishment. So many programs put women into a box with “good” foods and “bad” foods, while also feeling so rigid that GOODNESS forbid you ever take a vacation or enjoy a piece of carrot cake.
Through years of trial and error, I’ve discovered that when I combine support and accountability with science-backed strategies that worked with my real life, I was able to find a healthy living balance that supports the life I want to live. A NORMAL life! The reality was, I had to create a NEW NORMAL!
These healthy habits are what allowed me to focus on my health and not a number on the scale all while still enjoying vacations, date nights, and all the things that make life worth living.
Food
I've spent my adult life yo-yo dieting, always looking for the. next plan that would work. As a certified nutrition coach,
I can help you with food choices and consistency so you never have to go on another diet.
Fitness
I've always been active, but didn't start working out until I was in my 40s. I fell in love with lifting and began empowering other women over 13 years ago as a certified fitness trainer. I can help you right where you are.
Focus
As a certified mindset specialist, I'll help you overcome stress & emotional eating and stop sabotaging yourself. I understand your struggles because I've had them too. It is possible to have victory over this.
I had to completely unlearn YEARS of diet culture lies and discover how to trust myself, all while figuring out how fitness for over 50 actually works. It sure wasn’t easy, but it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for myself.
And now, I get to help other women (ahem, like you) do the same. Except you won’t need to do all the jumping around that I did, because I’ve got a perfectly laid out habit based approach for you to follow.
Regardless of where you are in your health journey, there is one thing I want you to hear from me:
I believe in what’s possible for you, and I believe in your ability to change your life and create a NEW NORMAL!
And when you’re ready, book a call, and I’d be honored to be the one to help you do it.
